So I have been tagged by My life is Murphy’s Law for this 8 random facts meme.

1.I have to post these rules before I give you the facts.
2. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

Hmmm. 8 random facts….But they won’t truly be random now will they?  They can’t possibly be, because I am picking them myself.  That makes them very non-random (is that a word?) doesn’t it?

The definition of random involves, statistically speaking, the idea that every fact about me has an equal chance of being chosen without influence.  It would also assume that I am not carefully chosing which facts to share with you.

It would be evident that fact number 1 is that I frequently overanalyze things.

Fact number 2  I have worked in the following jobs, in chronological order: disc jockey at a country radio station (started when I was 14), dish jockey (in the dishroom-washing dishes-in college), RA (that’s resident assistant) in the college dorms, CNA (certified nurse’s assistant) at a nursing home, Therapy Assistant in a drug and alcohol rehab center, Therapist in a partial hospitalization program, Community Support worker in an outpatient rehabilitation program, Case Manager for the State of Missouri Dept. of Mental Health Division of MR/DD, Director of a Camp & Conference Center, Director of Admissions & Social Services for a nursing home, Enrollment & Match Support Specialist for Big Brothers Big Sisters (current occupation).

Fact number 3  I am almost exactly 10 years younger than my oldest sister.  Her birthday is the 26th and mine is the 23rd.  I came home from the hospital on her 10th birthday.

Fact number 4  I have owned the following pets in my lifetime: cats, dogs, fish, birds, baby raccoons (briefly-my older siblings rescued a litter that the mother had been hit by a car and was killed), rabbits (we were told we were purchasing two males–about six litters equaling hundreds of bunnies later–we realized we were lied to), hamsters, guinea pigs, a rat…I think that about covers it.

Fact number 5  My favorite color is blue.

Fact number 6  My favorite musician of all time is Billy Joel (probably because he is so freakin’ talented in spite of battling Bipolar disorder).

Fact number 7  I am a clutterbug.  I fight pack ratism all the time.  I come by it honestly though–my mother was a child of parents of the depression era and believed like the Gospel that nothing should be thrown away, EVER, because it might be able to be used for something else.  My pack rat tendencies focus around memorabilia.  Mr. Flipphead loves to tell people about my boxes of rocks (I was a rock hound as a child and there are a lot of really interesting pretty ones in those boxes–some day I will go through them and do something with them….someday…)

Fact number 8  My desk at work is organized and neat as a pin.  My desk at home has piles of papers, photos, toys, etc.

Update:  I guess I should have actually caught up on reading people’s blogs before I tagged them.  Juggling Mother is on hiatus too.  I will substitute another couple of blogs.

O.k. so I added dog.ate.this who looks like he might be on hiatus since he hasn’t blogged since May, but I’m guilty of that.  I also added At Your Service, which is one of those sites that doesn’t really do these kind of memes I don’t think, so just go visit the site, it’s interesting!
